There's much to see and do in Wadena and the surrounding area. Stroll the downtown alleys and enjoy 1000 years of Minnesota history with the Alley Arts Institute's "Murals of Minnesota", then check out the many unique shops on Wadena's art deco main street including the recently renovated Northern Pacific RR Depot and a huge indoor craft and flea market just 3 miles east of Wadena on US Hwy 10. There is a 3.5 mile bike trail well as a championship-caliber Joel Goldstrand 18-hole golf course, Whitetail Run, just 3 miles north of the downtown area.

For a look into the past, visit the Wadena County Historical Society Museum, the 15 different exhibit rooms are a fascinating look into Wadena's history. Outdoors, enjoy the Memorial Garden and original 1886 court house tower. Staff are also very helpful in genealogy research and records with over 23,000 obituaries, 3,600 photos and much more.
